ForO Operational Architecture
The ForO system runs on two separate nodes:
- Node 1 (backend). It provides enough computing power to operationally run the WRF model in a nested domain configuration.
- Node 2 (front-end / Web Interface). This is a Virtual Machine running Ubuntu Linux with an Apache web server.
System nodes have the following characteristics:
- Node 1: physical machine running Fedora26, Intel Xeon CPU E5-2670 v3 running at 2.30GHz, with 24 cores and 2GB RAM.
- Node 2: virtual machine with 2 computing cores, to cope with a database engine and a web server with CPU speed of 2 GHz and 4GB of RAM, also to be able to cope with the database and the web server, including caching.
